When it comes to forklift fuel there are several different types to choose from depending on the job you have to do and the environment you are working in. There may also be a correlation between the type of forklift fuel used and the type of tires that are appropriate for the application.
Types of Forklift Fuels:
• Electric Forklifts
• LPG Forklifts – Propane Forklifts
• Diesel Forklifts
• Gasoline Forklifts
One of the best fuels to use indoors is good old electricity. Electric forklifts are one of the best options for indoor use on hard surfaces because they produce no exhaust and run very quietly. Another option that is best for both indoor and outdoor use is LPG (Propane).
LPG forklifts (or Propane forklifts) also produce very low emissions and the forklift propane tanks can be easily changed out or refilled. LPG forklifts usually come with cushion tires for use on smooth surfaces.
When working in outside construction, a diesel forklift may be what you are looking for. Diesel forklifts provide the most torque and power and are ideal for heavy duty industry.
Diesel forklifts also have pneumatic tires that are designed to withstand the rugged terrain of a construction site. A gasoline forklift may fit your needs, but it must also be used outdoors due to high emissions.
